The San Marcos Castle Bunk Bed is truly one of our favorites. It holds two twin mattresses – one above and one below – but can also make an excellent playhouse or loft bed.

We created the fantastic silhouette of the San Marcos Castle Bunk Bed with two tall, crenelated bookshelf turrets, topped with tall thin cones. Between them we put our unique Orlando Window, surrounded by double echoed molding. Kids enter the lower bed deck through an arched doorway with faux stones above it and a step below it. On either side are cathedral windows with trim around and below them. 

To reach the upper bed deck, children climb a set of spindled stairs set on the left side of the design. On the right side is a straight slide, which makes getting out of bed a treat instead of a chore. The Orlando Window creates a small shelf within the upper bed deck, and is a great way for parents to see inside. 

The bookcase turrets have plenty of storage, with five adjustable shelves included in each. More storage can be made available by requesting cubby’s within the staircase and slide. Both of these cubby’s are accessible from within the lower bed deck and are great for storing toys. A small drawer can also be added into the bottom of the slide. 

We paint the standard San Marcos castle with a white base paint and purple on the cones and Orlando Window roof. You can also ask for custom hand-painting. The painting shown above has faux stones and small flower vines. We can also ship it out to you unpainted, and allow you and your family to make it unique. 

If you want to really make this design pop, ask for the optional light package. If you order this, we will put lights into the bookshelves, lower bed deck, and Orlando Window.

When we designed the San Marcos Castle Bunk Bed, it was with space in mind. The traditional bed over bed design helps to keep the bed from protruding too far into the room. However, if the slide and/or staircase are too wide for your room, we would be happy to replace them with a lean-to or cubby hole ladder.
