Dear Grandparents,

My brother, Kevin and I are the owners of Tanglewood Design. We both have large families including lots of grandkids (my wife, Laurel, and I have 16!). One day a couple of years ago, my son-in-law brought his 2 boys over to Tanglewood to work on their Pinewood Derby’s for Cub Scouts. I’m not particularly handy out in the shop but I did my best to help. Later that day I sat down at my desk and found this note from one of the boys, Cooper.

I keep the original of that note on my desk at work. It helps to remind me of how important it is to spend time with my grandkids. To all you grandparents out there, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this. You know family matters. But what you might not know is how to keep those relationships strong.

How do we do it in our family? With traditions. Every time my grandson Colby comes over, he and I work together to wind our grandfather clock. Hank and I search for bugs in the backyard. And then there is Kaylie. She’s eighteen years old now, and ever since she was four-years-old, whenever she and I say goodbye, I give her a hug and she tells me, “Yes, Grandpa, I love you and you love me.”

The problem is, you can’t begin a tradition with grandchildren you never see. That’s why Kevin and I dedicate ourselves to creating fun, colorful, imaginative playhouses and bunk beds that are perfect for the homes of grandparents like you! With fun features like slides, climbing walls, rope buckets, plinko boards and more, you will officially become “the cool grandparent.” And a fun bunkbed is a great way to encourage little ones to stay the night. Not to mention that while the grandkids are playing, you and your kids can get some much needed catching up time.

Of course, our designs have another feature that sets them above the rest and makes them perfect for you: our customization. Each playhouse can be tailored to the wishes and specifics of the families they will go to. Get a storefront playhouse and name the shops after the kids. Add a plinko board to the bunkbed that determines who gets to pick the bed time story. For our family, it would have to be a playhouse painted with hidden bugs for Hank to find!

Traditions are made out of the little details like this, and traditions keep families strong. If you’re looking for a great way to bond with the grandkids for years to come, then one of our playhouses or bunkbeds is perfect for you!

Give us a call today. I would love to discuss all your options with you, and help you find the design that is just right for your family.

Best wishes from our family to yours,

Michael.
