Kids Town at the Falls
Typically, in our shop we have several different projects going on at once. Most designs are built entirely by one builder before being deconstructed and sent over to paint. Once on the paint side, they are worked on by various painters to ensure everything gets done. At any given time, we may have anywhere from three to six designs in progress in our shop.
Occasionally, though, we get a project with puts a halt to that typical flow. Something so big and awesome that it dominates our shop for a couple weeks at a time. That has been the case with our most recent, and one of our most ambitious projects, Kids Town at the Falls. If you read the blog last week, you’ve already seen the ship.
Before everyone in the shop found themselves hard at work on that, we were all pitching in to finish Kids Town’s enormous castle. Despite its size, they managed to get it installed in their building within just a couple of days. Here is the first picture of it:
It’s truly difficult to get a sense of the scale from this picture, but check out that light hanging above the top (by the time you read this they will have removed that light) for an idea of its size!
They came to pick up the ship on Wednesday, which means that our shop has now begun to go back to its typical rhythm. We’ve got a handful of similarly large projects (and one that might turn out to be much, much bigger!) coming in the next few months, but for now it’s back to bunkbeds!
Here are a few more in progress ship pictures to hold you over until next time!
